Brenda Bertrand is a training consultant, public speaker and life coach.

She honed her leadership skills in a well-rounded career in the worlds of media, higher education, international missions, and politics.

From 2003 – 2006, Brenda was honored to serve as a political appointee at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in Washington, D.C. She left the Presidential Administration
to pursue her life mission: to impact the world by helping to transform lives and careers of young adults.

Brenda has served as a chaplain at Georgetown University, and maintains an active speaking schedule as a leadership coach for Growing Leaders and an independent consultant for Franklin Covey and other leadership companies.

Other career highlights include work as a television news anchor, global expedition project director with Teen Mania, and dean of women at the Honor Academy.  She has also taught as an adjunct faculty member at Regent University. These experiences have given her insight into the pervasive leadership vacuum on campuses and in organizations worldwide.

She is committed to motivating this generation to develop the heart and skills needed to thrive in demanding and influential environments without compromising values and a quality personal life.

Born and raised in America's paradise, the Virgin Islands, Brenda ventured to the U.S. mainland to earn both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in communication studies as well as a degree in biblical studies.

She resides in the nation's capital.

Growing Leaders is a non-profit organization which serves public schools, state universities, and civic organizations, as well as faith-based organizations and churches. Our mission is to develop young leaders who will transform society. Our goal is to equip and mobilize one percent of the world’s population under the age of 25 (30 million students) to think and act like authentic, life-giving leaders. We will do this by helping them discover their purpose, equipping them for leadership and showing them how to use their gifts to serve the world around them. We are about youth leadership development.
